Executive Management

Nantz Rickard

President & CEO, ex officio

President and CEO of DCTV since 1994, Nantz is also one of its founders, having worked for DCTV since 1987. She provides visionary and strategic leadership and management to DCTV in the realms of public policy, legislation, and cable franchises. Nantz ensures that DCTV’s mission is supported with excellent capacity at all levels. For Nantz, being at DCTV isn’t a job – it’s her calling and an opportunity to fulfill a long-held vision. She loves supporting a really unique mission that empowers people and communities, plus the opportunity to work with a talented and knowledgeable team.

Hafeez A. Kazim

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Hafeez A. Kazim is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration with the Public Access Corporation of DC. He has over 40 years experience in both nonprofit and for profit arenas. His expertise encompasses full service accounting — from financial management and tax preparation to budgeting, auditing, administration and investment activities. Hafeez believes in DCTV’s mission especially with regard to youth training. In between crunching numbers, he loves to tell jokes, travel, play golf and fish.

Eric E. Richardson

Vice President, Programming & Production 

For more than 15 years, Eric has played a role in some of the District of Columbia's most groundbreaking media moments. As the Executive Director of the District of Columbia Office of Cable Television (OCT) for over eight years, he ushered in DC's adoption of Verizon Fios as its third cable provider, spearheaded the $12 million acquisition and renovations of OCT’s permanent home in the former Black Entertainment Television Studios and rebranded three television stations to better educate and entertain District residents. Eric’s accomplished career includes time as the Director of Broadcast Services at Howard University’s PBS affiliate WHUT-TV. Additionally, he served as Executive Producer of Evening Exchange with Kojo Nnamdi and contributed to the development and direction of such shows as The Tavis Smiley Show, Moneywise with Kelvin Boston, and White House Chronicles. He was instrumental in enhancing WHUT’s programming and fundraising vision. Eric is frequently tapped to deliver messages and offer insights about the dynamic and every changing media landscape. He has given talks to the National Associate of Telecommunications Officers and Advisor, Howard University, American Public Television and the United States Telecommunications Training Institute among others. 

Fun fact: Eric is an avid reader and volunteers weekly tutoring elementary students to help them master the essential skill and empower them to succeed. He's been named a volunteer of the year!

 

Administration

Robin Waley

Finance and Administration Manager

Robin is the Finance and Administration Manager for DCTV. In addition to her extensive background in financial management, particularly the nonprofit sector, she is also the former Executive Director of a homeless transitional program in the District of Columbia, as well as the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an ex-officio officer to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.

Production and Training

Brian Barber

Training Specialist

As DCTV’s training specialist, Brian works to develop future leaders in media. A former educator, he is integral in the implementation of our youth programs. He enjoys being able to interact with members to cultivate their love for TV production. Brian Barber discovered his love for videography and video editing as a graduate student. He embraced it first as a hobby before ultimately transforming it into his profession. A passionate problem-solver, he can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than 3 minutes.

Mark Leeke

Senior Multimedia Specialist

As a Senior Multimedia Specialist, Mark loves working with such a diverse group of members and their projects. Every day is different! With a broadcasting career that spans over 25 years, he has covered every aspect of broadcast production and has worked for companies that include CNN News, Reuters and Comcast. In his spare time, Mark enjoys tinkering with computers and is an avid fan of science fiction.

Jamie Fain

Multimedia Specialist

Jamie joined our team in 2014 as a Multimedia Specialist, and works with a variety of clients and producers. She also works on graphics and packaged material. A California native, she loves that DCTV is such a welcoming, energetic and innovative organization. Fluent/proficient in American Sign Language and Spanish she likes to read, draw, write and learn foreign languages in her spare time.

Carmen Stanley

Operations Assistant

Hailing from Dallas, TX, Carmen started out as a DCTV intern and now assists the Programming, Operations, Training and Production departments as a Media Operations Specialist. She enjoys working along side the team at here while furthering her knowledge in TV production. When not supporting our staff, she can be found on the couch binge watching her favorite TV series or in the studio volunteering on shoots.

Shaun Rosa

Digital Producer - Instructor

Shaun began his career with DCTV in the Fall of 2015 as an intern with the production team.  He now works as a Digital Producer - Instructor, regularly collaborating with the Production and Outreach teams. Prior to entering the television production world, Shaun spent the last twelve years as a professional disc jockey which he continues to pursue in his spare time.  Born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Shaun stayed in the area and graduated with a degree in communications from the University of Maryland at College Park. 

Programming

Karen Beasley

Manager, Programming

For the last 16 years, Karen has served as the Programming Manager at DCTV. Her duties include developing monthly program schedules, assigning series and individual time slots, reviewing program submissions, and providing support to our producers. Karen loves meeting and collaborating with people to bring their visions, issues, and points-of-view to the airwaves.

Jacque Rearden

Master Control Coordinator

As Master Control Coordinator, Jacque monitors signals, troubleshoots signal failures, oversees community bulletins and maintains logs of playback activities.  She began as a DCTV volunteer playback technician in 1996.  As an attorney for over 20 years, she is the former Director of Legal Services for the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts; and was the coordinator at  Hart & Chavers for the “Introduction to the Practice of Entertainment Law” CLE Course.  Jacque enjoys learning new techniques to enhance the quality of  telecasting.
